Today, most solar panels on the market are equipped with cables about 3 feet long, 1 positive ('+') and 1 negative ('-'). Each cable end is connected to the solar panel junction box and is equipped with MC4 connectors at each end - the negative cable ('-') has a male MC4 connector and the positive cable ('+') has a positive MC4 connector.

If you want to connect the solar panel cables to a solar controller, a junction box, or a grid-connected inverter, an extension cable with the corresponding MC4 connectors (male and female) is required.

QUICK ASSEMBLY
The MC4-PAIR plug-in connector set for solar panels contains a male connector and a female connector. This type of connection system is very easy to install and uses plug-in locking tabs, thus preventing any accidental disconnection. Once the connectors are locked, the coupling contacts are protected against water or dust intrusion.

CONNECTOR COMPONENTS
MC4 connectors, male and female, include the following components:
• Insulated outer shell with locking device.
• Male and female coupling contact made of tinned copper. The cable is easily placed in the folding area and crimped by folding with a crimping tool such as the PV-FMC4 crimping tool.
• Gland with internal rubber sleeve to tighten and seal at the cable entry.
